Made in Rwanda Expo supported HIV Positive people and delivered thousands free condoms - AHF Rwanda
Only 8 out of 658 people were tested HIV positive during the testing campaign organized by The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) on in Kigali city.
The testing campaign helped the youth and other people who attended the made-in-Rwanda Expo that took place in Car free zone during the six days till 25 June 2017.

Etienne Hakizimana, the official in charge of HIV prevention in AHF-Rwanda explained that there is a significant step in voluntary testing of HIV/AIDS. “We are testing HIV/AIDS countrywide and offering free condoms as well as helping those who are found HIV positive with facilities to get Anti-Retro Viro (ARV) drugs.
In this particular campaign, in about 658 people tested, we found only eight people who are HIV positive. These ones were linked to the nearest health centers for ARV facilities,” Hakizimana said.

Participants to the campaign wished that the exhibition period should be extended next time to give chance to many people to get tested.
Antoine Mutsinzi, the president of Nyarugenge district council welcomed this initiative and promised to increase the period of the next exhibition to attract more participants for Free HIV test.
54.000 free condoms were distributed plus pieces of advice for Rwandans to be alert for new HIV Contamination.
