Few people found positive in Free HIV Testing at Expo Rwanda 2017 (Photos/Video)
The 20th Rwanda international exhibition trade fair 2017 held at Gikondo ground and AHF Rwanda offered the chances of free testing of new HIV virus to the attended audience .
In such Expo, youth attended most frequently and few people found infected with new HIV virus and after AHF Rwanda connects them with directly local heath centres.
John Hakizimama from AHF Rwanda who was the field coordinator at Expo revealed that there was positive cases and they will be support from day one.
Hakizimana mentioned there are 19 positive cases found. These people are going to be connected with health centers in order to continuously receive medicines that fight HIV virus as well as getting counselors advices for their health.
The beneficiary person who received the service named Ngiruwinsanga Zephanie is glad for the free and fast service. He said I came in Expo and when I saw the stand of AHF Rwanda where they give free HIV testing service,I decided to come for my check up. I now know my status and this service is crucial because it enables to know how to behave in case of negative or positive case. In addition,receiving free condoms, it will help me when I am ready for sex.
Rusanganwa Leon Pierre the director of HIV prevention at private sector federation that organized the Expo Rwanda 2017 is keen on saving lives of Rwandans who attended the international exhibition.
Rusanganwa said Now we are saving lives. This year has been an opportunity to save lives in Rwanda.AHF Rwanda service is greater. people have been given service for free.
250000 people attended the expo were informed about HIV testing and 2500 clients were served with free HIV Testing and received free condoms. AHF Rwanda is among 433 exhibitors who graced the 2017 made in Rwanda Expo promotion.
