Umuganda:Tigo Rwanda donates 500 Mutuelle de Sante to Burera District residents,
On Saturday 28 November Tigo Rwanda leadership and staff joined residents of Kayenzi Cell, Burera District in Umuganda. During the Umuganda community service Tigo Rwanda staff participated in digging trenches for water pipes alongside area residents and local authority leaders including Northern Province Governor, Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi.
Following the Umuganda in Kagogo Sector, Tigo Rwanda staff also donated Mutuelle de Santé for 500 vulnerable sresidents from Cyanika and Ruhunde sectors, who were unable to afford health care. The handover of the medical insurance cards took place in Cyanika Sector.
This donation, worth Frw.1.5 million is part of Tigo Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to ensure a better life for the most vulnerable Rwandans.
Commenting on the donation, Tigo Chief Executive Officer, Philip Amoaoteng, said;
“As a company working in Rwanda, we believe that it is our responsibility to take care of the most vulnerable among us and that is why we are very pleased to be able to ensure that 500 vulnerable people now have access to health care”.
This donation brings to 1,266 the number of Mutuelle de Sante cards that have been distributed by Tigo Rwanda into three districts this year, namely Burera, Bugesera and Ngoma.
