“Yeejo the vocal” to uphold the winners to participate in international African cultural festivals
Seven talents holders were selected to contest for singing competition known as “Yeejo The Vocal” organized by Yeejo.rw an online youth magazine. The competition will help them to increase their knowledge about organizing and attend cultural festivals in Afrika.
This is a competition that is going to take place in Kigali on its second round as last year, Rita Ange a high school student was crowned the winner. This year more than 20 contestants participated into the completion and only seven of them will be helped to upgrade their talents to the high level in partnership with sponsors and partners of Yeejo limited the company behind that singing competition.
The first part of the competition took place on 12th July 2017 where three talents holders were Pascal Solo who was the first, NshimiyimanaAimable, the second and Uwera Lydia the third one. It is expected that the secondy part will take place in September this year.
The competition was organized in partnership with Germany cultural institution in Rwanda “Goethe Institute”. The direction of Goethe Institute revealed that they are pleased to partner with the competition to promote Rwandan music on internal platform starting with young talent owners.
“As cultural institution, we are very pleased to support YeejoThe Vocal competition to detect, train and promote the new talents in Rwandan music industry so that they can be able to start exhibiting their music potential in professional way”. The Director of Goethe Institute, Katharina Hey said
She also added that they will insist on the program that helps artists to participate in different concerts and international festivals in Africa known as ’Moving Africa’ as they will support the winner of this competition to go out of the country to represent Rwanda.
Jean Baptiste Nyabyenda the CEO of Yeejo ltd, the company that organized the competition said that their intention is to help young and upcoming artists to promote their talents and increase their knowledge in music as well as connecting them with great artists including one star in Rwandan and the rapper that will come from Germany calledMegalohwho will perform live with the final winner of the competition.
Goethe Institute that partnered with Yeejo limited to organize the competition of YeejoThe Vocal, has been working with international festivals in Africa including SautizaBusarathat take place in Zanzibar and Tanzania,iRep Documentary Film Festival from Nigeria, Dak’Artin muri Senegal, Dialogue de Corps from Burkina Faso and so much more
